UCLA Eating Disorders Program Review
Based in Los Angeles, California, The UCLA Eating Disorders Program offers medical and psychiatric support for adolescents and adults struggling with anorexia, bulimia and related co-occurring disorders. The program is located specifically in the Resnick Neuropsychiatric Hospital, which is part of the UCLA Health Network, and provides individualized care planning. Groups cover a wide range of topics including family therapy, emotional processing, self-regulation, mindfulness, healthy body image, relaxation techniques, art therapy, trauma-informed care, recreation and pharmacotherapy whenever necessary. Because the program focuses on eating disorders, treatment plans also include nutritional counseling, meal planning and cooking classes.
Extensive dual diagnosis services are available including medication management. The staff at the UCLA Eating Disorders Program consists of MDs, psychiatrists, psychologists, RNs, case managers, nutritionists, LMFTs and additional Master’s and PhD-level clinicians.

In addition to the intensive inpatient plans, those who complete primary care can also continue with outpatient or PHP as a form of aftercare. In all levels of care, specialized treatment plans are available for adults and adolescents.
