Treatment and Staff
Clients begin the program by undergoing an assessment to help the staff develop individualized treatment plans. Detox is provided on site and withdrawal symptoms are medically managed in a clinical setting. The process generally lasts three to five days and clients can then transition seamlessly into the inpatient program. If needed, Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) is available for opiate addictions. This type of treatment is offered in conjunction with detox or as a maintenance program, but both options require ongoing participation in therapy. MAT utilizes Suboxone and facilitates medication management.
Treatment ranges from 30 to 90 days, depending on the client and includes daily individual and group therapy. There are both co-ed and gender-specific groups, with adolescents participating in a specialized track. Evidence-based practices are emphasized, particularly DBT, with Motivational Interviewing (MI) and components of the 12-step philosophies and psychoeducation. Those requiring dual diagnosis support benefit from targeted groups and medication management.
Staff includes a physician, a psychiatrist who specializes in addiction and Master’s-level counselors who hold LCSW and MFT credentials.
Extras
Clients are offered holistic and recreational activities, like art therapy and daily exercise at the gym. In addition, Turning Point offers aftercare support in the form of outpatient treatment from the main location as a well as an additional office in Cordova, Tennessee. Turning Point also provides referrals to sober living facilities through Lighthouse Recovery Residences.
