The Basics
Turning Point Recovery in Southaven, Mississippi, is a behavioral health organization that serves the nearby Memphis metro and northern Mississippi area. Treatment and Staff
Before beginning treatment, clients undergo an initial assessment and intake process so that counselors can develop an individualized treatment plan. All outpatient programs include a combination of individual and group therapy that uses evidence-based practices, with a strong focus on DBT. If needed, Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) is available in conjunction with detox or as a maintenance program, but both require ongoing participation in at least the IOP-level of treatment. MAT utilizes Suboxone and facilitates medication management.
The PHP is the most intensive level of care is and geared towards clients transitioning out of inpatient. It meets five days a week, from 5:30 to 9:30 pm, and includes two weekly individual sessions. The adult IOP is offered during the day and in the evening and the adolescent IOP meets three nights a week from 6 to 9 pm. Both IOP tracks include 13 hours a week of therapy. Clients are assigned a counselor who they have one individual session a week with. Groups cover a range of topics including identifying triggers, anger management, relapse prevention, health and nutrition, life skills, codependency, self-esteem, relationship and family education.
Those requiring dual diagnosis support benefit from targeted groups and psychiatric medication management. Staff includes a physician, a psychiatrist who specializes in addiction and Master’s-level counselors who hold LCSW and MFT credentials.
Extras
Additionally, family night happens once a month and includes addiction education and multi-family group therapy. Sober living placement through Lighthouse Recovery Residences is also available.
