The Basics
True Accountability opened its doors in September 2014 to offer residential treatment in Prescott, Arizona specializing in dual diagnosis support and opiate addiction. While the facility is relatively new, its staff and treatment team have decades of experience in the recovery industry and in treating patients with co-occurring disorders.
Accommodations and Food
In the 90-day inpatient program, men and women reside in separate homes in residential areas in Prescott and are transported to the treatment facility each day for therapy and psychoeducation lectures. Residents have roommates in the homes, which feature modern décor and ample common areas with televisions and outdoor space for relaxing.
Clients are given a gift card each week with their grocery budget and are then taken to the grocery store to buy their week’s provisions. They are responsible for preparing their own meals in their residence and can pack a lunch to eat during their treatment hours.
Treatment and Staff
Men and women are separated for processing groups but may have some psychoeducation lectures together. For the first 30 days of treatment, clients may not have outside visitors or personal computers or phones and are asked to focus on their treatment activities. After this initial stabilization phase, they can earn privileges for off-site recreation trips and home visits. During the final phase of the 90-day program, clients are expected to search for employment and/or be pursuing educational goals.
Each day includes up to six hours of group and individual therapy and lectures. Therapy uses CBT, DBT and Motivational Interviewing (MI) and lectures address nutrition, relationship skills and decision-making. Residents also partake in daily house meetings and are transported to 12-step meetings in the area each evening and on weekends. Each resident must attend at least five 12-step meetings each week.
The treatment team at True Accountability includes LPCs, physicians, psychologists, LISACs and court liaisons. The treatment team specializes in dual diagnosis support and provides medication management and therapy for mental health diagnoses. True Accountability treats opiate addicts with Suboxone and works with each client to create a tapering plan (if the client chooses) and timeline.
Extras
For aftercare, clients can continue to attend treatment groups at the Intensive Outpatient (IOP) level, and True Accountability also assists in location a suitable sober living facility in Prescott to reside in while in the IOP. For clients who do not live in the area, True Accountability helps them locate therapists and peer-support meetings in their area to continue to facilitate their recovery.

By creating treatment plans that address each individual’s mental health conditions and, befitting its name, empower clients to create and goals beyond their comfort zone, True Accountability appears to be developing a program that provides inspiration as well as medically supported treatment.
