Triumph Treatment Services: Inspirations Review
Triumph Treatment Services is a Washington state network of substance abuse treatment programs and facilities with specialized programs tailored to meet the unique needs of men and women. Triumph has two residential drug and alcohol treatment programs devoted solely to women; one designed specifically for pregnant women and mothers, the other for adult women only—Inspirations.
Located in the city of Yakima, Inspirations is a 28-day intensive treatment program providing individualized tracks that aim to provide a safe and sober living environment for women struggling with addiction while they develop the tools necessary to recover. As a non-profit, Inspirations is in the business of helping as many women as possible, regardless of their financial limitations.
Accommodations and Food
Renovated just two years ago, Inspirations has spacious dorm-style accommodations for residents broken up into two bays with 16 total beds, each with a locked armoire. There’s also a TV room, living and dining rooms where clients can socialize during down time.
Kitchen staff prepare high-quality meals with typical options including home-style cooking with seasonal dishes like winter soups and those with special dietary needs and preferences are accommodated—whether vegetarian, lactose/gluten intolerant or diabetic. Taking away the stress that goes with basic human needs, like food and meal preparation, makes it easier for residents to focus on their recovery.
Since Inspirations is on the same campus as Triumph’s Clean and Sober Housing, they share a courtyard. There are benches and a playground out back, making it more accommodating for the kids and family members who come visit on the weekends.
Treatment and Staff
Treatment at Inspirations lasts 28 days, but if clients can justify the need for more treatment, it can be extended up to 90. Clients attend education and lecture groups led by their counselors every morning, with topics varying from day to day but typically focusing on the effects of drug and alcohol on the body as well as coping with grief and loss. Afternoons are filled with more classes, group and individual therapy, study time and personal time. During free time a domestic violence group comes in for those in need of support. After dinner clients are expected to attend a 12-step meeting, most of which are in house. By the end of treatment, women should have completed steps one through three.
Dual diagnosis support is not offered as there are no medical doctors on staff. There are 13 staff members at Inspiration, including two CDPs, one CDP trainee and eight recovery support specialists. Women who cannot get their physical or mental health needs met at Inspirations are shuttled to medical professionals offsite for appointments.
While private insurance and out-of-pocket payments are accepted, most clients are covered under Medicaid or other state funding.
Extras
As smoking is not permitted anywhere on campus, Inspirations offers nicotine cessation support groups. Additionally, a family-focused group and family counseling are available, allowing residents and their loved ones to work with a counselor both together and independently.
Before leaving treatment, residents are provided with a great deal of guidance in finding aftercare, including sober living environments, outpatient treatment and 12-step groups in their individual communities.
