The Basics
With locations in the small northern California towns of Weaverville and Hayfork, Trinity County Alcohol and Drug Services is a county-funded program. It offers a wide range of community-focused services, including outpatient substance abuse treatment for court-ordered and self-referred residents.
Treatment and Staff
After an initial assessment and intake, new clients at Trinity County Alcohol and Drug Services work with staff members to develop an individualized treatment plan. Treatment works within the structure of group and individual therapy using evidence-based treatment methods such as CBT and DBT. Groups cover a range of topics including relapse prevention and the addiction as disease model. All clients are required to attend 12-step meetings, which are offered on-site. Staff consists of MFTs, LCSWs and additional Master’s-level clinicians.
Extras
Trinity County Alcohol and Drug Services does not offer an aftercare program, however, referrals for outside agencies are available upon request.
Additional services include case management, a suicide prevention hotline, a perinatal program and standalone mental health counseling.

Overall, Trinity County Alcohol and Drug Services offers flexible outpatient treatment for addiction. Treatment is evidence-based but also offers an introduction to the 12 Steps as well as integration into the local recovery network. While those with co-occurring disorders may need a more comprehensive program, Trinity County Alcohol and Drug Services is an affordable resource for residents of the county.
