The Basics
With facilities in Augusta, Kennesaw, Brunswick, Newnan and Waycross, Georgia as well as Panama City, Florida, Treatment Centers of America is an expansive, CARF-accredited organization providing outpatient treatment to clients in recovery from opiate addiction. Although part of the program includes Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) in the form of supervised methadone dosing, clients must also attend standard outpatient therapy to receive services.
Treatment and Staff
Before receiving medication or therapy, clients must go through an initial intake and assessment to help staff members develop their individualized treatment plans. While each plan may vary, clients attend both individual and group therapy that uses evidence-based practices, like CBT. Groups cover addiction education, relapse prevention, transition planning and case management. Though 12-step participation is encouraged, it is not strictly required. Those in need of dual diagnosis support may also need to find additional support elsewhere.
The staff at Treatment Centers of America consists of CADCs, LPNs, RNs and additional Bachelor’s and Master’s-level counselors.
Extras
Aside from the above, the organization also provides a number of ancillary services including pregnancy, blood and urinalysis testing. Crisis intervention is also available as are referrals and treatment coordination with off-site services as necessary.
In Summary
In all, Treatment Centers of America provides a range of flexible services for adults in recovery from addiction, specifically those coming off of opiates. In addition to its methadone services that are similar to an ambulatory detox, clients also attend evidence-based therapy and can get referrals to other programs as necessary. While somewhat of a a niche option, Treatment Centers of America remains a strong resource for those who qualify.
