The Basics

Tracie’s Place is a sober living that offers upscale accommodations in Fort Lauderdale for women who have recently left a treatment program and are in need of extended support before returning to their homes. Tracie’s Place relies on the 12 steps and stress-free, healthy living to help clients get back on their feet with a renewed sense of empowerment and wellbeing.

Accommodations and Amenities

Tracie’s Place is located in the downtown area of Fort Lauderdale, which is a hotspot for hundreds of peer support meetings along with world class restaurants, beaches and shopping. The multi-level, modern home sits in a private neighborhood minutes from the ocean. There are six beds dedicated to the clients, who sleep in double occupancy rooms furnished fully with full beds, dressers and closet space. Each of the bedrooms has a bathroom in en suite as well.

The beautiful classic decor includes a large dining room and state of the art kitchen with stainless steel appliances and marble countertops, a breakfast bar, and sitting room. There are TVs in every bedroom that have cable, and Wifi throughout the home. A living room with a large, L-shaped couch also has a mounted flat-screen TV. There is a sun deck off the living room and a roof deck, both of which have sun chairs displayed and small tables, and are perfect places for morning Yoga. The facility also has a washer and dryer on site, which is available for use at any time.

Rules and Regulations

Tracie Duich, the founder of the facility, opened the home as a response to the opioid epidemic in South Florida, and her intention is to help women find accountability and freedom while living in recovery. In order to remain in the house clients have to submit to random drug tests, and come into the house totally clean for a minimum of 30 days. There are mandatory house meetings held once a week with the resident manager, and required attendance of AA, NA, SMART Recovery meetings, or Refuge meetings, all of which are minutes from the house. There are also curfews that have to be followed, and it depends on how long the client has been living in the house.

Duich has been in long term recovery and has worked in the recovery field for a long time. She has experience as a national outreach manager at a treatment facility in Fort Lauderdale and a lead recovery coach.

Extras

There are two on-site yoga classes per week.

In Summary

Tracie’s Place is about imparting the importance of self respect onto the clients so that they see how crucial it is to stay clean and sober and live a healthy life. The facility owner brings her own experiences to her clients and her main intention is to offer alternatives to addiction but providing a safe and luxurious home where learning new skills and seeing joy in sobriety is the key to long term success.
