The Basics
TLC Recovery is an outpatient treatment facility in north-central Montana providing counseling services for individuals with alcohol addiction and drug addiction. Adjacent to the Chouteau County Courthouse, TLC has been offering substance abuse treatment for adults and adolescents since 1992.
Treatment and Staff
The first step in treatment is an assessment facilitated by an LADC that is conducted on a first-come, first-served basis on Mondays between 9 am and 11:30 am. For eligible clients, substance abuse is a primary concern and, while those with co-occurring disorders are treated by TLC, these individuals are also provided with a psychiatric referral.
TLC uses CBT, with clients attending individual therapy one to three times per week and group therapy once a week. Topics include addiction studies, relapse prevention, identifying triggers and peer pressure. While clients are not required to work the 12 steps, the staff at TLC strongly recommends regular attendance at AA/NA meetings.
Young clients enrolled in the TLC adolescent program must have parental consent and, as with the adult program, attend individual and group sessions. While TLC does not have a family program, parents or legal guardians must stay in contact with the counseling staff monitoring the client’s progress.
The treatment team at TLC includes LADCs.
Extras
Both eight- and 16-hour DUI classes are offered for first- or second-time offenders who are court-ordered. Payment for this class is due prior to enrollment and private insurance is not accepted.
