The Basics
Located in Boca Raton, Florida, Three Trees Center for Disordered Eating is a behavioral health organization that offers boutique-style treatment programs for clients struggling with eating disorders and related behavioral health issues. Both men and women are welcome to attend along with adolescents and adults. In addition to its supportive and sober living facilities, the organization also offers flexible Intensive Outpatient Programs (IOP).
Treatment and Staff
Before beginning a program, all clients go through an initial intake and assessment process to help staff members develop their care plans. Though on-site detox and stabilization services are not available, those in need can get referrals as necessary. Though IOP typically meets three hours per session three days a week, clients can alter the intensity of these programs as necessary to meet more frequently.
Treatment consists of both individual and group therapy utilizing evidence-based treatment practices including CBT, DBT and EDMR. Dual diagnosis support and medication management services are also provided. Groups cover many topics including family systems, mindfulness, coping skills, Somatic Experiencing, nutrition, yoga and meditation. Participants are also served supervised food and snacks throughout the program. Though cross-addiction is covered in groups, 12-step participation is not always required though it may be encouraged.
The staff at Three Trees Center for Disordered Eating consists of LMHCs, LPCs, psychologists, dietitians, case managers and additional Master’s-level clinicians.
Extras
Beyond the clinical approaches, the organization also includes a wide range of holistic and experiential therapies which may include equine therapy, beach yoga, cooking lessons and other related topics. LGBTQ clients are also welcome and can attend special support groups. As mentioned, those seeking a more intensive program can also live in supportive living while attending therapy, the combination being akin to a residential treatment program. Finally, those who complete primary care can also step down their treatment and continue attending therapy as an aftercare option.
In Summary
Overall, Three Trees Center for Disordered Eating is a well-rounded organization with support for many different eating disorders and behavioral health issues. Treatment plans include a suite of evidence-based practices, holistic approaches, nutritional counseling and skill-centered groups to help prepare clients for a more balanced life. While the cost of these programs may vary depending on each participant’s insurance coverage, the outpatient programs at Three Trees Center for Disordered Eating remain a strong resource worth considering for those in the area.
