The Basics

The Sobriety Experience  of Scottsdale, Arizona offers upscale sober living homes for men and women who have recently left an inpatient treatment program and are in need of a transitional, drug-free living environment. Clients reside in gender-specific houses and participate in the 12-step community and are encouraged to continue their recovery journey by partaking in a local Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP), group and individual therapy and other structured programs. Clients reside with behavioral health technicians who are able to provide guidance and a supportive environment for all.

Accommodations and Amenities

There are two men’s and women’s homes through The Sobriety Experience that offer spacious and comfortable accommodations along with a number of excellent amenities. All locations are situated near shopping, restaurants and recreational opportunities and give clients access to public transportation if needed. The homes can fit up to 10 clients in each within semi private rooms and shared bathrooms. They each have game rooms with ping pong tables, pools in the back areas, an office and meditation rooms, and WiFi throughout. There are also flat-screen TVs with cable and a computer that clients can use.

The homes are impeccably clean and clients are expected to maintain their condition through daily chores. All the cleaning products are provided in addition to linens, and a washer and dryer are on-site.

Rules and Regulations

The length of stay at The Sobriety Experience is up to the client, though it’s typically around three to six months. Incoming clients have to have been sober for at least two months before moving into one of the houses. Everyone has to attend five to seven support meetings per week when they aren’t working full time, and once employment is secured they have to attend between three and five. The meetings don’t necessarily have to be AA or NA—SMART Recovery, Landmark Forum and Celebrate Recovery are also acceptable options.

The staff maintains a structured daily schedule of wake up times, curfews and chore schedules. There are also frequent check in with staff for progress reports with sponsors and weekly drug screens. Additionally, those who are in need of medication management or Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) can maintain their treatment schedules with help from the staff.

For those who want to continue with their treatment programs there are IOPs that the facility works with and trust. There are also life coaching and family guidance services, assistance with legal issues and referrals to mental health facilities.

Extras

Sober companions and transportation packages are available when needed. There are also sober monitoring programs for after the client leaves the homes and returns to their communities as an additional measure of accountability.

In Summary

The Sobriety Experience gives their clients a lovely place to live as they begin to transition back into their communities while sober. They maintain the importance and requirement of accountability, which is so crucial in the beginning stages of recovery, and offers continuing treatment options as an extra layer of support.
