Accommodations and Food
The Serenity Center offers dormitory style accommodations with a large kitchen, several therapy rooms, a common area and dual occupancy bedrooms equipped with twin beds and furniture. There is a patio area with picnic tables for socializing. Residents are asked to bring all hygiene products, a week’s worth of clothing and athletic wear. Smoking is permitted in certain areas. As nutrition is an integral part of the programming, clients eat healthy meals with their peers each day.
Treatment and Staff
Before entering treatment, clients are encouraged to call for a preliminary consultation and evaluation. During intake, residents undergo a more comprehensive assessment to help the team determine the most effective treatment strategy customized to the individual’s unique needs. Family is contacted shortly after intake to discuss treatment expectations and goals. While the Serenity Center does not offer detox, clients in need can be referred to a local hospital or detox center before entering the residential program.
The facility offers a 30 day comprehensive residential program. Clients engage in daily individual and group therapy as well as frequent family therapy. Serenity Center also provides psychoeducation courses that focus on relapse prevention and addiction as a disease. In addition, residents are required to participate in a 12-step support group each day.
The multidisciplinary team at the Serenity Center is comprised of a medical director, psychologist, MFT and a nursing team.
Extras
The Serenity Center offers aftercare for clients that have completed the residential program. Groups meet on Wednesday nights at the St. Paul Lutheran Church.
