The Basics
The Salvage Yard is a 12-step based sober living with eight properties in West Palm Beach, Florida. It offers a safe and affordable home to men who are in the beginning stages of recovery.
Accommodations and Amenities
The Salvage Yard’s properties are all basically identical, with five bedrooms in each home. Bedrooms are double-occupancy with twin beds, dressers and a shared closet. There are two to three bathrooms in each facility that all residents share as well. The homes are spacious and comfortable, each with two living rooms that have large-screen plasma TVs with cable. High-speed Internet is also available in all facilities. There are pools and BBQ grills in the backyard and linens and bedding are also provided.
No food is provided for residents, who are responsible for their own groceries and cooking their own meals. The live-in staff at all the facilities are available 24 hours a day.
There are frequent house outings to a nearby beach and to Peanut Island for snorkeling and volleyball. West Palm Beach has plenty of restaurants, shops and parks for residents to enjoy as well.
Rules and Regulations
To stay at the Salvage Yard, all clients must attend six 12-step meetings per week, get a sponsor within two weeks of move in and agree to regular random drug testing. Residents must also either work or volunteer. For those who want to continue treatment, an Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) is available through the Salvage Yard’s affiliate, The Program. Clients who do IOP are eligible for a scholarship that allows them to stay free for the first 30 days. Further reduced rates are available to those who opt to stay in IOP for longer than 30 days.
