Residents engage in individual, group and family therapy sessions. A typical day begins with a healthy breakfast at 6:30 am followed by meditation. Residents participate in process groups that focus on relapse prevention, psychoeducation and the 12-step method or SMART Recovery. During the afternoons, clients typically participate in adventure therapy and group process groups. Before dinner residents do creative therapy like art and music therapy, followed by dinner and then a support group. On weekends, residents are busy with 12-step and group sessions, but are allowed visitors. Therapists at The Ranch utilizes evidence-based CBT, DBT, Motivational Interviewing (MI) and EMDR.
The Ranch employs a registered nurse, psychiatric nurse, several primary therapists, support staff and a residential manager. The facility provides medication management for clients in need of dual diagnosis support for co-occurring mental conditions.
