The Basics
Since 2013, The Program of West Palm Beach in Florida has offered outpatient, Intensive Outpatient (IOP) and Partial Hospitalization (PHP) treatment programs for substance abuse, all with individualized and holistic approaches. With several different care programs for adult men and women, the facility focuses on each client using individual and group therapy and the 12 steps.
Treatment and Staff
The Program combines individual and group therapy with AA teachings in its treatment programs. The first of the programs is known as the traditional track, and can be elected in either an outpatient or IOP variety. This track requires five outside AA or NA meetings weekly in addition to one to three days a week of therapy, each session lasting three hours.
During these days clients receive some individual therapy, though the majority is group therapy covering relapse prevention and coping skills. The other track is known as the Christian program, which entails mostly the same as the above with a much more faith-based focus, emphasizing the benefits of a Higher Power. Both of these programs are individualized to the clients needs and can be scheduled around work, school and family obligations.
PHP is a more intensive level of care where clients attend therapy five days a week for up to six hours each time. Throughout the day, those in PHP attend between five and seven groups and up to three one-on-one therapy sessions weekly. Because clients are usually not able to work or run normal errands during treatment, PHP also includes time for clients to go grocery shopping, get haircuts and manicures when necessary and also includes some prepared meals at the facility. After completing PHP, clients often step down to an IOP or outpatient plan.
Therapy includes evidence-based practices like CBT and EMDR, though holistic options like equine therapy, art and music therapy are available as well. Integrating exercise into treatment, especially for those in the PHP, is also strongly encouraged. The staff at The Program is comprised of 10 therapists, all experienced in treating addiction. A mix of Master’s level therapists, LCSWs, CADCs and faith-based counselors make up the therapeutic team.
Extras
The Program strongly believes in and encourages family participation during a client’s time in treatment. There is a family program that involves group and individual therapy, as well as resources to direct loved ones to outside support meetings like Al-Anon. The facility also offers transportation to and from treatment for those in the IOP and PHP.

The outpatient treatment at The Program of West Palm Beach covers all bases, with a range of available therapies and a professional staff. Though the price is somewhat more expensive than the average outpatient option, counselors at The Program work closely with clients to create flexible, individualized plans.
