Individual, group and family therapy uses evidence-based practices, such as Motivational Enhancement Therapy (MET) and CBT. Groups vary in size and are mixed gender, covering topics like trauma, recovery and personal empowerment. Life skill training—such as managing emotional stress, health education, parenting skills and anger management—is also a significant part of treatment. The overall general length of the outpatient program ranges from three to 12 months. Twelve-step recovery principles are not necessarily incorporated into treatment but clients are welcome to attend AA/NA meetings if they wish.
Clients who require dual diagnosis support receive additional care through individual sessions with a psychiatrist and medication management. Staff includes full and part-time medical, clinical, recovery and administrative staff including CADCs, LADCs, CSACs and LCSWs.
