Founded by Ryan Hassan and Melissa Hiemann, The Melbourne Centre of Healing is an innovative outpatient substance abuse treatment facility in Melbourne, Australia. The program was created by the co-founders, two old friends who reconnected when Hassan’s meth addiction spiraled out of control and he turned to Hiemann, a certified hypnotherapist, for help. Treatment and Staff
The signature offering at The Melbourne Centre of Healing is a holistic 12-week Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) that welcomes addicts and alcoholics from all walks of life, including those with co-occurring disorders.
Treatment begins with a free assessment that establishes each client’s needs, treatment goals and whether the Melbourne Centre is a good match for them. The program includes one 90-minute individual session a week, combining traditional talk therapy with hypnotism and guided meditation. Daily text message support is also offered. Therapists guarantee being available via text to offer support as clients navigate situations that may trigger them to want to use drugs or alcohol.
The program also includes three holistic health components that are designed to heal the body and mind. Two weekly infrared sauna sessions are included, which are designed to detox impurities from the body as well as offer mood-boosting benefits. Nutritional counseling and supplements are provided by an experienced practitioner. This consultant helps pinpoint specific deficiencies and supply natural supplements based on personal requirements. Weekly sessions in a sensory-deprivation float tank are also available. The flotation therapy has shown to be extremely beneficial to physical and mental health, in addition to providing an overall sense of well-being.
