Treatment and Staff
The Living Solution offers an IOP that’s ideal for clients either transitioning between the residential program and “regular life,” or individuals that require consistent treatment but cannot meet the time commitment required for inpatient care. Individuals entering IOP must undergo a comprehensive evaluation that helps The Living Solution team create the most effective individualized care program.
While the length of IOP varies depending on the progress and needs of the client, treatment typically lasts between 12 and 16 weeks. The treatment approach is integrative and combines several therapeutic models including holistic methods, general wellness, 12-step recovery and evidence-based therapies like CBT and EMDR to treat past trauma as a component of a client’s current condition. Individuals participate in between nine and 13 hours of group therapy a week as well as a weekly individual sessions. While transportation is no longer provided, clients must attend a 12-step group every day and regularly work with a sponsor. The Living Solution expects clients to be responsible for their own recovery. To this end, clients must become employed and pay $150 weekly rent. The facility assists with employment process with classes on writing a resume and the job interview process. In addition, Living Solution recognizes physical fitness as an integral component to the success of a sustainable long-term recovery. It not only provides nutritional counseling, but also supplies clients with a gym membership for the duration of their program.
The Living Solution employs a multidisciplinary team of therapists, clinicians, addiction specialists and nurses.
Clients engage in family therapy every week. The session can be over the phone or in person, and much of the focus is on the difference between supportive and enabling behavior. Parents are advised to support emotionally but not financially, as clients must become responsible for their own lives.
