The Hader Clinic OutpatientThe Basics

The Hader Clinic is an addiction treatment program for adults over 18 in the Melbourne, Australia area. Hader offers residential and outpatient care with a sober living option to those struggling with substance abuse and co-occurring disorders. The outpatient program at Hader is open exclusively to those who have completed 30 to 90 days of residential treatment at one of the organization’s facilities. The Hader Clinic was established in 1998. What started as a small counseling office has now grown into one of Australia‘s most respected treatment programs, with facilities in Victoria and Queensland, Australia, as well as Indonesia and Portugal.

Treatment and Staff

Outpatient services take place in the Hader Clinic offices in Melbourne or Brisbane. The program begins with an assessment to help determine an individualized treatment plan for each client. Hader Clinic Outpatient is equipped to provide dual diagnosis support through individual therapy and specialized groups addressing anxiety, depression and PTSD. The programs includes group, individual and family sessions (if applicable). Flexible programming is provided to allow clients to work around their employment or school commitments.

The outpatient treatment stage usually lasts four weeks to six months, depending on the client’s treatment goals. Counselors use a variety of techniques including CBT and relapse prevention. Hader Clinic Outpatient programs also emphasize the 12 steps. Clients must attend three or more outside AA/NA meetings per week. Regular urine tests are also required as a measure of compliance.

The staff includes Master’s-level mental health therapists, doctors, nurses and consulting psychiatrists, as well as other support staff. Team members are often ex-clients who have successfully completed the Hader rehab programs and bring personal knowledge of recovery to their roles.

Extras

A transitional housing program is offered to individuals that have completed one of the residential treatment programs. There are four gender-specific sober living houses in the suburban Melbourne area—one for women and three for men. During their stay, residents attend the structured outpatient program or receive case management and counseling. All clients are required to attend regular check-ins and peer support groups and participate in group activities organized by The Hader Clinic. To ensure continual and progressive recovery, all residents must undergo urine drug screenings.

In Summary

Hader Clinic Outpatient programs pick up where the residential programs leave off. With a special focus on building a peer support group and introducing the 12 steps, clients are encouraged to build a solid support system in their early recovery. This outpatient program is a great compliment to Hader’s residential care and is designed to smooth the transition into a successful sober life.

My son being on 80mg of Valium a day not getting monitored at all having panic attacks only being told to go back to bed and deal with it. The state of the place and conditions disgusting. All they do is take your money and could not give one shit about the families and what they have been through. They promise to you back you don’t hear from them. I haven’t finished with them yet.”!!!!!! Very unhappy mother
