The Basics
Located in sunny Delray in Southern Florida is The Frog Pad, a women’s only sober living home that promotes happiness and healing through the 12 steps and a holistic environment. There are a variety of amenities that are offered within the two facilities and a structured community living environment.
Accommodations and Amenities
Both of the residences are beautifully furnished and set within quiet and serene neighborhoods, close to beaches and downtown areas. Each of the homes offer private and semi-private bedrooms, housekeeping services, laundry facilities, high speed Internet and cable throughout the house, and swimming pools. Some of the bedrooms have full bathrooms en suite while others are shared with only a couple other clients. Additionally the grounds have canals with lily pads and frogs, and a meditation beach.
Rules and Regulations
Clients who are new to The Frog Pad have an initial interview with house staff to determine how seriously they are taking their recovery and commitment to staying clean. They also contact past care providers and loved ones as necessary.
If it’s determined that a woman is a good fit for the program, she is able to move in and begins attending regular community 12-step meetings. She is expected to become fully immersed in a 12-step program by finding a sponsor and working the steps. There are also weekly mandatory house meetings. All medications have to be turned over to staff and are kept in a safe during their stay, and regular urine analysis tests are performed on a random basis.
Clients are expected to find a job or go to school during their stay and the staff can assist with some of these items. There are regular nutritional classes and clients learn how to prepare healthy meals and pick foods that will provide the best balance.
The house staff of The Frog Pad are all sober themselves for at least a year and uphold a strict code of ethics within their homes.
Extras
Residents have access to reflexology sessions, yoga classes and ample exercise opportunities. They can also expect to have regular massage appointments.
There are plenty of recreational and relaxation activities clients participate in while they’re living at The Fog Pad. There is a book club, parties and get togethers, crafting, jewelry making, movie nights, shopping trips and evenings out on the town.
