Rules and Regulations
Chiang Mai Sober Living House aims to provide clients with an opportunity to continue their recovery journey and grow as a person. While at the house, residents participate in a multi-faceted program that integrates an array of therapeutic methods and activities. The typical day begins with a goal setting group and includes personal time, volunteering, meditation and evening 12-step meetings at the local hospital. Clients engage in regular group therapy sessions and focus groups as well as individual therapy.
The program facilitates guided visualization workshops to help clients alter negative thoughts and habits. The facility also offers Thai language classes as well as volunteering opportunities to work with a dog rescue or to teach English to monks or school children. Clients enjoy music, yoga and art classes as well as bi-weekly excursions and group activities like wall climbing, kayaking, bowling, waterfall hiking, golf and cycling. Residents are required to attend a weekly house meeting and help prepare a group dinner on Sunday nights.
