Clients stay in resort like living quarters and live on a campus that is very close to the beach and other untouched nature hubs. The facility can accommodate up to 12 people in private, en suite rooms.
There are TVs and Wifi throughout the campus, and clients who are not able to take time off of work have access to a quiet workstation that is available before and after the days group activities. There is also a spa on site, areas to work out and an in-ground pool that clients can swim in all year thanks to the tropical climate of the area.
The Buttery Private has a chef on site who prepares daily meals and snacks. Menus offer the freshest ingredients and feature several different cuisines. Specific dietary needs and preferences are also met.
Treatment and Staff
A typical day at The Buttery Private begins at 6 am and ends at 9:30 pm for lights out. During this time clients have group therapy, psychoeducation, exercise, meditation or relaxation, individual therapy or expressive art activities. The program is broken down into four weeks. The first of week involves recognizing harmful behaviors and actions, then implementing a wellness plan and developing goals for treatment. By the final week, clients have begun to use their improved coping, communication and boundary setting skills. The goal is to develop an ability to regulate their emotions and start to plan for their return home.
Treatment methods consist of protocols that address past traumas and behavior modification techniques. Common approaches are CBT, Compassionate Focused Therapy, Exposure Therapy, Schema Therapy and mindfulness. These methods combined with an emphasis on nutritional balance, exercise and living stress free lives are the main message of the wellness program at The Buttery Private.
In addition to the residential staff who are available 24 hours a day, there are case managers and therapists on site who are addiction specialists.
Extras
Clients have regular massage and bodywork services along with yoga. There are also frequent outings to the beach and national parks.
