Beaches Treatment Center Review

Located an hour north of Miami, Florida in the beautiful beach town of Lantana, The Beaches Treatment Center is a treatment facility that specializes in the care of clients struggling with alcohol and substance use disorders as well as co-occurring mental health conditions like depression, trauma and bipolar disorder. Founded in 2014, Beaches believes in healing the “whole person” with a mind-body-spirit curriculum. Consequently, the facility provides a continuum of care that includes a Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP), Intensive Inpatient Program (IOP) and outpatient services, as well as sober living accommodations. It’s worth noting, 12-step is an integral component of the treatment curriculum.

Treatment and Staff

Beaches Treatment Center specializes in individualized treatment. Before beginning the program, clients undergo an extensive evaluation. It includes an account of substance use as well as a personal and family medical history. The Beaches team uses the results to determine a personalized care strategy tailored to address the unique needs and goals of the individual client. When necessary, clients transition into a medical detox program that includes around-the-clock medical supervision and medication management. Upon completion, most individuals transfer into the comprehensive PHP.

The PHP and IOP are flexible so they’re ideal for clients transitioning out of a residential facility, as well as people that require a consistent therapeutic structure but cannot commit to an inpatient program. Clients in PHP participate in therapy five days a week for six hours a day. With three days of treatment a week, individuals in IOP can receive care without taking time away from work and school obligations. Beaches also offers standard outpatient programming that includes nine hours of therapy a week.

The facility integrates evidence-based therapies, recreation, holistic practices, nutrition therapy and the 12-step recovery model. Clients engage in individual and group therapy rooted in CBT and EMDR to treat trauma as a causal component of the current conditions.

Beaches places a premium on client empowerment. As a result, the facility offers 12-step support meetings and relapse prevention courses that focus on identifying triggers and developing coping strategies. In addition, clients work with a case manager to design a customized discharge plan for continued support.

Beaches employs a team the includes a primary therapist, dietitian, recovery coaches and a physician. The facility offers dual diagnosis support and medication management. With a staff-to-client ratio of one-to-three, Beaches offers individuals plenty of personal attention

Extras

Participants can expect to experience yoga, mindfulness meditation and an array of creative arts like art and music therapy, drama and dance.

Beaches also offers employment assistance services including resume writing and life skills. The facility also provides specialized treatment programming for pregnant women struggling with addiction.

In Summary

Above all, The Beaches Treatment Center in South Florida concentrates on healing the whole client. Its approach is a well rounded one that incorporates evidence-based, holistic and recreational therapies as well as AA/NA. For anyone seeking top notch outpatient programming in a calm, supportive atmosphere, Beaches is an excellent option.
