The Basics
Texas Health Behavioral Health Services is a sector of Texas Health Resources, a healthcare corporation offering a variety of services from a network of agencies throughout the Dallas-Fort Worth area of Texas that provide both general and behavioral health services. Behavioral health services include an Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) substance abuse treatment program for adults as well as a Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP), support for eating disorders, detox and inpatient psychiatric services for adults and adolescents.
Treatment and Staff
The IOP at THBHS is a structured, individualized track that allows clients to maintain their work, family and life schedules. Clients are first assessed by a team of clinicians to determine the necessary components for their plans and to determine what to focus on in therapy.
Group therapy is scheduled every evening and clients are expected to attend at least 10 hours of group therapy per week. Individual and family therapy is scheduled independently depending on the needs of the client. Addiction education is also offered to clients throughout the week and focuses on the nature of chemical dependency and relapse prevention.
Treatment for co-occurring disorders is made available as are specialized IOPs for women, the LGBTQ community, young adults and working professionals, each catering to the special needs of those enrolled. The 12 steps are not integrated into treatment, however clients may be referred to local chapters upon request.
Those enrolled in the PHP participate in a highly structured outpatient program that is a step down from inpatient care. All therapeutic practices incorporate CBT. The psychiatric care programs fall under the PHP umbrella, making this option ideal for those requiring dual diagnosis support.
The staff at THBHS consists of clinicians, physicians, LSWs, LMHCs, LPCs, CADCs and psychologists.
Extras
In addition to a comprehensive range of IOPs for substance abuse, THBHS also offers a variety of other treatment and wellness services. Other services include an inpatient psychiatric programs, an eating disorders program and neuro-psych services.
