A house phone, a fully-equipped kitchen and on-site laundry are also available as is and plenty of street parking for tenants with cars.
Rules and Regulations
Maverick House is a structured living environment, and residents must meet a group of requirements to remain on the premises. Residents must be male, verified sober for 30 days and be active in a 12-step program before moving into the home. During the first two months of residing in the Maverick House, clients participate in Phase One which consists of following the 5 pm curfew, actively participating in 12-step meetings, attending group and individual counseling sessions and actively searching for a job. Once the resident has found employment, he may move on to Phase Two, another two-month process which has a 10 pm curfew and requires that the men must be actively progressing in towards their recovery goals as determined by a counselor prior to entry. Once these goals are achieved, he may move on to Phase Three. During this stage, there is no enforced curfew, and the resident may continue to live on the premises for up to another year.
Support is available for the men including help with accessing social services such as public assistance and food stamps. As they work towards finding employment, they are also given help with writing resumes, filling out applications and given access to computers for applying for jobs online.
The staff at Terros consists of LADCs, LSWs and case managers.
