The Basics
Tennessee Valley Healthcare System is a community oriented healthcare organization with a network of facilities offering health and wellness services. With locations in Nashville and Murfreesboro, Tennessee, clients have the option to choose the facility that best suits their treatment needs. Tennessee Valley offers both a regular outpatient track and an Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) for substance abuse that incorporate evidence-based treatment methods.
Treatment and Staff
The initial diagnostic assessment and evaluation determines whether a client attends the standard outpatient or the IOP. Both programs include individual and group therapy, family therapy, peer support groups, educational lectures and medication management for those with co-occurring disorders if needed. Individual and family therapy are scheduled independently, while group sessions are attended as frequently as the client’s individualized plan designates. The type and frequency of treatment modalities are also dependent on the plan that’s been tailored uniquely for the individual. All therapies are based in CBT and DBT methodology. The 12-steps are not integrated into the program, however clients are encouraged to attend AA/NA meetings as a supplement to their treatment.
The staff at Tennessee Valley is comprised of LSWs, CADCs, psychologists and LMHCs.

It offers homeless services, case management, counseling for PTSD, anxiety and mood disorders, hospice services, caregiver services and a specialized program for LGBTQ residents requiring support.
