The Basics
Located in San Marcos, California, Teen Recovery Center North Inland is an outpatient drug and alcohol treatment program for adolescents. A subsidiary of Mental Health Systems, a large, behavioral health organization since 1978, the facility is one of many successful programs throughout the state. Through its partnerships with North Inland school districts, Teen Recovery Center North Inland offers flexible and individualized treatment programs for its target demographic.
Treatment and Staff
After an initial assessment, clients enroll in one of two treatment options: Day Care Habilitative (DCH) program, an intensive track that combines alternative schooling and drug and alcohol treatment or the Outpatient Drug Free (ODF) track, which is more flexible and doesn’t include schooling. Both programs consist of individual and group therapy where evidence-based practices such as psychodrama and CBT are used. Holistic approaches, including art and music therapy, are also part of the program. Though 12-step participation is not required, clients are encouraged to attend meetings.
The staff consists primarily of MFTs and Master’s-level counselors.
Extras
The facility provides bilingual support and interpreters for clients with hearing impairment. Because Teen Recovery Center North Inland coordinates closely with local schools, hospitals and courts, clients can receive additional referrals for assistance as necessary. For ancillary mental health treatment, outpatient services are offered at the BPSR Kinesis North Ramona Clinic nearby.

The program accepts both self-referred and court-ordered clients, with two available options and supplemental mental health treatment.
