The Basics
Teen Focus Recovery Center LLC opened its doors in 2008 to provide outpatient substance abuse treatment in East-Central Minnesota. Teen Focus has two facilities in two small cities north of Minneapolis/St. Paul (Rush City and Mora).
Despite its misleading name, Teen Focus also provides treatment to adults. It strives to provide treatment to individuals who are seeking a holistic approach that integrates spiritual, mental and physical aspects of recovery.
Treatment and Staff
Teen Focus offers treatment at the Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) level of care. Clients attend group therapy three times a week for three hours. Individual therapy is scheduled as needed. Most treatment plans are completed in 10 weeks, for a total of 96 treatment hours. Adolescent groups are scheduled in the evenings, and daytime and evening groups are available for adults.
Groups are led by LADCs who use CBT and other evidence-based modalities to help clients handle triggers, create boundaries and learn relapse prevention techniques. Clients in need of dual diagnosis support are referred to nearby mental health clinics, and counselors help clients locate 12-step or other peer support meetings such as Celebrate Recovery if they think they’d be beneficial.
Extras
For aftercare, clients can attend a weekly relapse prevention group.

Its treatment teams know the communities well, and are able to provide emotional support and recovery tools tailored to the unique needs of the teens and adults in Mora, Rush City and the surrounding area.
