The Basics
The Guadalupe regional Medical Center is a non-profit community hospital in Seguin, Texas and the umbrella organization for the Teddy Buerger Center—the licensed treatment center for substance abuse and chemical dependency. GRTBC offers both an Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) and basic outpatient treatment.
Treatment and Staff
GRTBC offers both an IOP as well as general outpatient care through the “Supportive Outpatient Program” for clients seeking less intensive treatment. The IOP is 10 weeks in length and consists of group therapy sessions three nights a week and an individual therapy session once a week scheduled independently between client and counselor.
The group sessions are held on Monday, Wednesday and Thursday evenings from 6 to 9 pm. Group topics include relapse prevention, addiction education, independent living skills, coping skills and anger management. The supportive outpatient program is 16 weeks in length and consists of one group session per week with a minimum of two individual sessions per month. Group sessions are held on Tuesday evenings from 5:30 to 7:30 pm or on Wednesday mornings from 9 to 11 am. All sessions use CBT methodology and the 12 steps are not integrated into the program.
The staff at GRTBC consists of CADCs, LPCs and LSWs.
Extras
As Guadalupe Regional Medical Center is a full-service medical hospital, numerous other health and clinical services are available. Services include a birthing center, cardiovascular services, emergency services, hospice care, surgical services, therapeutic services and wound care. Patient support offers behavioral health services, education classes, spiritual care and medical directives as well as social work and case management.
