The Basics
Founded in 2000, Team Management 2000, Inc. aims to “act as a positive change agent to low income and at-risk families and individuals.” Team Management offers outpatient substance abuse treatment at four locations in Bergen, Essex and Passaic Counties in Northern New Jersey.
In addition to serving local families, Team Management has several programs dedicated to helping individuals who have been incarcerated, including Rosemary’s House and Project Rebound—two New Haven, Connecticut sober living facilities that help ex-offenders with re-entry into the community.
Treatment and Staff
Outpatient treatment at Team Management is offered at both the standard and Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) levels. Clients enrolled in the IOP attend group therapy three times each week and have individual therapy once a week. Clients in the less intensive standard outpatient track have group therapy once or twice each week and one-on-one sessions every other week. The average stay in each program is 12 weeks, but clients are welcome to extend their treatment plans.
Groups are offered Monday, Wednesday and Thursday evenings. Monday groups explore the disease model of addiction. Wednesday groups focus on life skills, and Thursday groups focus on relapse prevention. The treatment team—which includes CADCs and MSWs—uses CBT, Motivational Interviewing (MI), Acceptance-Commitment Therapy and REBT.
The treatment team is experienced in treating co-occurring disorders. Team Management has a psychiatrist on staff who can provide both prescriptions and medication management for mental health diagnoses and Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) for opioid addiction using Vivitrol.
Team Management endorses the 12-step framework and requires IOP clients to attend at least two 12-step meetings each week and standard outpatient clients to attend at least one.
Extras
Family members may attend a client’s individual therapy sessions if they think it would be beneficial. For aftercare, clients can continue to attend the Thursday relapse prevention group once or twice a month.
Team Management offers a host of other supportive programs for ex-offenders and families, including GEMS, a gender-specific mentoring program for girls.

Its outpatient programs use a variety of well-tested evidence-based treatment methods designed to change the thought and behavior patterns of those struggling with addiction.
