Located about 80 miles north of Charlotte, North Carolina in the town of North Wilkesboro, Synergy Recovery is a treatment facility that provides comprehensive detox programming for clients between the ages of 18 and 65. Founded in 2001, Synergy utilizes an integrative approach to care and stabilization using multiple therapeutic models including the 12-step method, mindfulness and dual diagnosis care.
Treatment and Staff
Before coming to Synergy, clients undergo a phone screening to determine whether or not hospital medical clearance is necessary. The facility provides detox programming for clients with an array of addictions including alcohol, stimulants, opiates, methadone and Suboxone. In addition, Synergy stabilizes individuals with mental illnesses. The facility provides a medically-assisted detox that employs medications to curb painful and uncomfortable withdrawal symptoms. While the length of detox varies depending on the individual’s specific needs, clients typically stay between five and seven days. Clients can opt to leave early but can be held for 48 hours.
Synergy provides a structured detox experience with plenty of time allotted for rest and relaxation. While smartphones are not permitted, clients are allowed up to 10 smoke breaks a day as well as meditation sessions and process groups between meals. Clients also engage in individual sessions with a psychiatrist, mindfulness-based relapse prevention and the 12-step model.
The Synergy Recovery staff is made up of addiction counselors, clinicians and physicians. Medication management is an integral component for the stabilization of individuals with mental illnesses. Synergy treats a maximum of 12 clients at a time. Individuals benefit from the intimate atmosphere with plenty of personal attention.

While clients cannot leave and return to the facility, there are common areas for relaxing as well as snacks.
