The Basics
Located in Delray, Florida, Swinton Place is a sober living facility exclusively for men. The program offers both a great location and a structured, supportive environment, with additional assistance available to help residents find employment and learn basic life skills.
Accommodations and Amenities
SP provides apartment-style housing with 22 beds in total. Bedrooms are shared between two clients at a time, each featuring twin-size beds with all the bedding provided. Each apartment also includes a living room with television and a modern kitchen with a coffee machine and all the necessary cooking utensils. Each also comes with a telephone, cable and a washer and dryer.
When it comes to meals, all residents are expected to shop and cook for themselves as part of the process of learning necessary life skills. For outside activities and recreation, Swinton Place is just a few minutes away from public transportation and the beach.
Rules and Regulations
Swinton Place requires a minimum time commitment of six months although many clients end up staying a year or more. While living in the apartments, all residents must obtain outside employment and attend a minimum of five 12-step meetings per week. Assistance finding a job or alternative options like volunteerism is readily available. All clients must also obtain sponsors.
Throughout their stay, residents must continually be working the steps with their sponsors. All clients are also expected to submit to random drug and alcohol tests. Swinton Place has a strict zero tolerance policy for relapse. All residents are required to keep their apartments tidy and clean on a weekly basis. Laptops and cell phones are permitted and visitors are allowed on the weekends. The weekends also provide time to attend additional meetings, work out at a local gym or spend time at the beach.

Overall, Swinton Place provides a comfortable environment for men to take the next step in sobriety. The program is affordable and stresses personal accountability and life skills. While the facility is fairly relaxed aside from its strict drug testing policy, Swinton Place is still a supportive sober living environment with an emphasis on 12-step involvement.
