The Basics
The New Jersey-based behavioral health network Sunspire Health runs treatment centers in California, Florida, Illinois, Massachusetts, Oregon, South Carolina and Texas. The Oregon location for women is called The Rosebriar in the coastal city of Astoria, Oregon. The facility provides a gender-specific continuum of care that begins with detox and residential treatment. Outpatient services available include a Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP), an Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) and basic outpatient treatment. Programs at this location also incorporate dual diagnosis support if necessary.
Treatment and Staff
The Rosebriar Outpatient programs are available for women who prefer to live at home during treatment or who have completed the residential program. The PHP runs Monday through Friday for six hours a day and includes group and individual therapy. After about two weeks, clients usually step down to the IOP level, which is a 10-week program that entails 12 to 15 hours a week of group therapy and individual sessions. Clients also attend off-site AA/NA or SMART Recovery meetings. The basic outpatient phase of treatment can last four to eight months, depending on the client’s individualized treatment plan and progress. It includes one weekly group session and individual therapy once a month, urinalysis and mandatory attendance at self-help groups.
The Rosebriar therapists use evidence-based practices, such as CBT, DBT and Motivational Interviewing (MI). Groups cover interpersonal skills, coping mechanisms, shame reduction, grief and loss, spirituality, relapse prevention, self-esteem work, co-dependency, relationships and healthy boundaries and anger management. Psychoeducation classes are also offered that address topics relating to addiction.
The Rosebriar treatment team is comprised of a psychiatrist and medical doctor as well as Master’s-level therapists including MFTs and CADCs.
Extras
Rosebriar also offers holistic options such as art therapy, yoga, Qi-Gong, meditation, equine therapy, massage and acupuncture.
The Rosebriar offers a family program that consists of one-on-one sessions for family members with a therapist.
