The Basics
The New Jersey behavioral health network Sunspire Health operates rehabs in California, Florida, Illinois, Massachusetts, Oregon, South Carolina and Texas. In November 2015, Sunspire Health acquired a new Texas location in the Dallas suburb of Princeton. Previously operated by the Caron Foundation but now completely revamped, Sunspire Health: Texas offers detox, residential treatment and a Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP). The PHP is available to those who have completed a residential program or do not need 24-hour care. Programs also incorporate dual diagnosis support and Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT).
Treatment and Staff
The PHP clients at Sunspire Texas have the same rigorous schedule as residential clients, with about six hours a day of therapy, only they don’t spend the night. All clients participate in daily group therapy and educational sessions. Individual therapy appointments typically happen twice a week. Therapy incorporates CBT, DBT and Motivational Interviewing (MI). Group discussions focus on trauma, anger management, developing coping skills and relapse prevention. Lectures educate clients about the physical impact of addiction and the cycle of addictive behavior. In this phase, clients are encouraged to attend AA/NA meetings in the community and they continue to have access to the facility. Those on medication continue to be monitored and assessed by a psychiatrist.
The treatment team includes Board Certified psychiatrists, nurses and doctoral and Master’s-level clinicians with significant experience in addiction and mental health treatment. There are also fitness coaches, techs and a nutritionist on staff.

Guests in the PHP can continue to enjoy access to an on-site fitness center, pool, yoga and exercise classes.
