The Alpharetta, Georgia (a northern suburb of Atlanta) Sunrise Detox provides a safe and comfortable medical detox for men and women to begin their recovery process from drug and alcohol addiction. Clients can expect upscale living quarters and healthy balanced meals during their three to 10 day stay in treatment. They also participate in counseling and 12-step meetings. Accommodations and Food
Though Sunrise is a medical detox facility clients don’t ever experience a stuffy, hospital-like environment but rather spacious and comfortable supported living quarters. And even though the stay is usually no more than a week and a half, there is plenty of space for clients to unpack and get situated while in treatment. Once the client feels up to socializing, there is The Great Room, which is a common area with a 60-inch TV, digital fireplace, and plush couches and chairs. There is also an outdoor patio lounge that’s available during the day.
The dining room is open to clients 24 hours and offers fruit, juice, coffee and tea. There are also three meals served daily, prepared on-site and described as “comfort food.”
Treatment and Staff
Incoming clients have a full medical exam and during the assessment are given a personalized treatment plan. Medications are used to ease the process and clients have call buttons that can summon someone from the staff at any time—an asset especially during the intense first 24 to 48 hours of detox. Once stabilization is achieved there are group therapy options. Sessions are rooted in evidence-based approaches like EMDR. Twelve-step meetings are held on site, but attendance is not required. Dual diagnosis support can be facilitated.
The staff of Sunrise Detox in northern Georgia consists of medical and clinical professionals who believe in the “detox with dignity” philosophy. This includes CADCs, LMFTs, RNs and addiction specialists.
