The Basics
Stonecrest Center is a Detroit, Michigan based behavioral health inpatient treatment facility offering medication management and counseling services for a variety of mental health issues. In addition to its standard treatment practices, Stonecrest also offers the Inspirations Treatment Program, which is geared towards adolescents and adults who, in addition to an existing mental illness, have also been diagnosed with developmental disabilities. This program facilitates a number of treatment approaches within group and individual sessions, and also teaches valuable life skills with the intention of clients improving the overall quality of their lives. The Inspirations Program is primarily an outpatient based track, though in some cases when a client is in crisis, they do stay at the facility until they are stabilized
Treatment and Staff
The Inspirations Program offers unique treatment for clients with mild to severe behavioral health concerns, which can mean depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, and schizophrenia, on top of sensory issues. This category can include clients with cerebral palsy, developmental delays or impairment, or for those on the autism spectrum. A large portion of this program consists of the client working one on one with a therapist in the sensory room at Stonecrest Center.
This tracks focuses on managing behaviors, learning coping skills, improving communication, anger management and acquiring daily living skills through activities. There is recreational therapy weekly and expressive therapy sessions that offer music, art and movement therapy. Other treatment methods are evidence-based and include CBT and DBT. The client have one or two meetings per week with their primary therapy, as well as appointments with a psychiatrist. In some cases the clients are assessed or additional diagnosis, like a substance abuse disorder and are treated for that as well.
The staff of Stonecrest Center is comprised of Board Certified medical doctors, nurses, psychiatrists, LPCs, LCSWs and psychologists.
Extras
There are continued family therapy services offered throughout the clients time at the facility as well as in an aftercare setting. In addition, Stonecrest Center offers holistic treatments that include Pet Assisted Therapy with a certified therapy dog.

It offers life skills and other treatment options with the intention of arming the clients with the right tools for when they return to their normal daily lives.
