The Basics
Discreetly located in the upscale Los Angeles neighborhood of Bel Air, Stalworth Recovery is a luxury facility that provides sober living services to men and women in recovery. The organization essentially offers concierge, individualized treatment with dual diagnosis support with flexible lengths of stay.
Accommodations and Amenities
Stalworth can accommodate up to six people in private bedrooms with modern decor, queen-size beds, dressers and closet space. Each room also features ground to floor windows with views of the grassy campus outside. Aside from the bedrooms, the home offers an acre of land outside, patios, an outdoor fire pit, a Koi pond and a home theater.
All residents also get temporary gym memberships during their stay. Transportation services are available for a range of needs as well. Though clients and staff take weekly grocery shopping trips together, all meals are cooked by an executive chef who support a range of dietary restrictions.
Rules and Regulations
Throughout their stay, each resident is assigned their own staff member to help with weekly goals, money management, medication management and case management services. Though intensive care programs are not offered on-site, counselors can help clients find outpatient and Intensive Outpatient Programs (IOP) as necessary (clients can also find jobs or volunteer as they wish). Requirements for activity outside of the home are kept flexible.
Transportation is provided to two off-site AA meetings a day, with residents required to attend five peer support meetings a week. While 12-step is generally encouraged, participants are also welcome to attend SMART Recovery meetings or other groups to help fill this requirement. Residents stay busy each day with morning and evening process groups, house chores to build accountability and off-site recreational outings. As mentioned, lengths of stay are flexible with long-term options available as well.
Extras
Stalworth Recovery can help facilitate aftercare planning for its alums through the facility itself or through nearby programs. The staff also provides a range of support services for those looking to find a job or more permanent housing.
