Located in Grand Island, Kearney and Broken Bow, Nebraska, St. Francis Alcohol and Drug Treatment Centers is a drug and alcohol treatment facility offering detox, residential and outpatient treatment for clients struggling with addiction and co-occurring disorders. The organization is a subsidiary of its larger parent company CHI Health, a primary medical care provider with locations throughout Nebraska and Iowa.
Accommodations and Food
The organization’s short-term residential programs are offered at Grand Island and have a total of 23 beds available. An additional 36 skilled nursing beds are reserved for those in need of detox. Because it is essentially a psychiatric hospital, the accommodations at St. Francis are clinical with both shared and private rooms available. The facility also features lounges, classrooms and a cafeteria. Clients are provided three healthy meals a day.
Treatment and Staff
Before treatment begins, residents go through an initial intake and assessment to help the staff develop their individualized treatment plans. Though the specifics of each plan may vary, clients attend both individual and group therapy that uses evidence-based practices, such as CBT and DBT. The program also puts an emphasis on 12-step recovery and trauma-informed care, with EMDR available as necessary. Support for co-occurring disorders including medication management is also offered. Length of treatment ranges between five and 28 days.
Aside from the above, the organization also provides a range of outpatient programs at all locations including Intensive Outpatient Programs (IOP) and Partial Hospitalization Programs (PHP) for adults and adolescents. The majority of the youth programs offered are at the Broken Bow and Kearney facilities. Clients who complete primary care can also work with staff members to develop stepped-down aftercare plans as necessary.
Overall, St. Francis Alcohol and Drug Treatment Centers provides a thoroughly medical and psychiatric approach to recovery along a full continuum of care. In addition to 12-step recovery, clients also receive trauma-informed care and dual diagnosis support as necessary. While the cost may vary depending on length of stay and strength of insurance, St. Francis Alcohol and Drug Treatment Centers provide solid treatment to those in the area.
