The residential schedule involves a mixture of group and individual therapy with treatment lasting up to nine months. Group sessions use CBT and cover topics such as coping skills, communication, the 12-steps, self-esteem and anger management. Support for mental health issues is also offered through therapy. All participants also have at least one meeting with a psychiatric nurse practitioner for possible medication management and have access to an on-staff MD when necessary.
School is required and facilitated Monday through Friday on-site, helping keep young people up-to-date with their studies while pursuing treatment. Families have the opportunity to participate in recovery though a weekly family group on Monday. The staff consists of Master’s-level therapists, psychiatrists and LADCs.
