St. Christopher’s Addiction Wellness Center (STC) is substance abuse treatment organization in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. All bedding and towels are provided by the facility.
Kitchens are fully-equipped with ample storage for individual supplies. A dishwasher, refrigerator, microwave, oven and gas top stove, coffeemaker and a toaster are all available for clients to use. The facility provides paper products and coffee for residents but the men are expected to provide their own groceries and prepare meals. There is an on-site laundry room with washer and dryer for resident’s use.
Rules and Regulations
The men’s sober living program offers structure and a solution-oriented program dedicated to supporting long-term recovery. All potential residents are required to have attended STC’s primary care or IOP prior to enrollment. Clients must attend regular AA/NA meetings in the community, find a sponsor and work the 12 steps. Every Wednesday, clients are free to attend a Step Study meeting at the primary care location.
During their stay, residents must find a job or enroll in school and become self-supporting. Curfew and more detailed rules are agreed upon by the group and counselors and are based on each individual’s schedule. The complex enforces a zero-tolerance policy for using alcohol and drugs; with all residents frequently administered random testing. Residents found using any substance are immediately evicted; however, those in good standing are welcome to stay as long as they wish.
The staff includes residential team that are available 24 hours a day.
St. Christopher’s clients have access to the wellness center facility, that has cardio machines, weights and opportunities for yoga class and massage therapy.
Aftercare is available in the form of free ongoing weekly groups for up to one year following treatment at STC.
