The Basics

Scottsdale, Arizona’s Springboard Recovery offers holistic treatment services to adult men and women with addiction and dual diagnosis issues. Thee facility utilizes different modalities including the 12 steps and CBT through group and individual therapy. There are both residential and outpatient programs available through SpringBoard Recovery. The outpatient component features intensive day programs with the option to reside in the sober living.

Accommodations and Amenities

The sober living residence is a beautiful two-story home with an array of upscale amenities and comfortable, spacious living space. The facility provides luxury linens and plenty of home entertainment options. The bedrooms are semi-private with men and women living on separate sides of the home.

There is a large swimming pool and outdoor grill, a private yoga room and coffee is available around the clock. Clients have regular workout sessions at the local gym along with recreational and social outings. They can also have their cell phones and use their own cars.

Rules and Regulations

The sober living program does allow a bit more freedom than a residential setting would but also requires a significant amount of time either going to treatment or having a full-time job, schooling or volunteering. Clients are also required to have a strong foothold within the 12-step community by attending daily AA or NA meetings and obtaining a sponsor.

There are daily morning meditations followed by chores. Clients work with the house manager on setting personal goals and accountability. There are weekly progress meetings and drug screenings that clients have to submit to. Additionally group house meetings with nightly recaps of the day are mandatory.

Attending outpatient programming at Springboard’s treatment center is a common occurrence, though there are some clients who wish to attend a less intensive schedule of treatment, and house staff is able to guide their clients in offering referrals to therapists in the area that they have thoroughly vetted. There are also life coaches and mentorships that can be arranged, and medication management services offered.

In some cases clients may opt to live at their own homes during this stage of treatment, and just participate in the outpatient track. This usually means that clients participate in the Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) that meets three times a week for three hours at a time of group and individual therapy. This is also a viable option for those living in the sober living residence. Treatment approaches are evidence-based with some naturopathic methods sprinkled in for good measure.

The staff of the outpatient treatment program are LPCs, SACs and LACAS, along with support staff.

Extras

Aftercare planning takes place throughout treatment where clients work with their therapist to come up with a continuation plan that may consist of therapy once a week and regular check in’s with staff.

In Summary

The outpatient and sober living program through Springboard Recovery is excellent. They give their clients a luxury place to hang their hats while starting to rebuild their independent lives. While there is still a moderate amount of daily structure, clients are encouraged to go out on their own and introduce themselves to the sober community, which in the long run helps maintain sobriety and build self esteem and courage.
