The Basics
Spero House Sober Living is a women’s only sober living program operated out of Mesa, Arizona. Spero House offers several housing options and is available to women 18 and older who have recently gotten out of a residential program and have been clean for 30 days or more. Spero House is centered around 12-step principles and works closely with local outpatient facilities to help clients complete their treatment successfully while learning new life skills.
Accommodations and Amenities
There are four private homes associated with Spero House, all of which are in quiet residential neighborhoods or gated communities, and offer a mixture of private and semi-private bedrooms. The houses are all upscale, one or two stories, with eat in kitchens, living rooms with cable TV, new appliances and modern furnishings.
Three of the homes come with pools in the backyards complete with water features and patio grills, while the gated community residence has a huge community pool clients have access to. Each of these locations are close to public transportation, grocery shopping, restaurants, parks, educational opportunities and employment.
Rules and Regulations
There is a house manager who lives on site in each location, and a staff member is available 24 hours a day. There are frequent and random drug screenings that clients have to submit to, and if they refuse they have to vacate the premises. Every client is required to attend to attend at least four AA/NA meetings per week, have a sponsor and a home meeting location.
For clients who are in need of an outpatient program, Spero House is able to refer residents and help them get acclimated. There is a list of house chores that need to be completed on a daily basis, and residents are responsible for keeping their personal spaces tidy. There is also a curfew that each client has to abide by, and it varies depending on how long the the person has been in the program.

Spero House works with businesses that help women learn vocational skills, self care and obtain medication services.

The facilities are really nice and give the women a sense of safety and security, while also encouraging them to get back out into the world and have a renewed sense of self.
