Southern Oregon Rehabilitation Center and Clinics Review
Based out of White City, Oregon, Southern Oregon Rehabilitation Center and Clinics (SORCC) is an expansive behavioral health organization owned and operated through the US Department of Veterans Affairs. The facility provides a number of individualized services to homeless and low-income veterans struggling with addiction and co-occurring disorders. All told, the SORCC facilities have a total of 600 residential beds for men and women in rooms shared between three or more clients at a time. Other rooms include shared living areas with cable TV, outdoor walking paths, on-site exercise equipment and a fully-equipped kitchen. Throughout their stay, residents are served three meals a day cafeteria-style.
Treatment and Staff
Each client receives an individualized treatment plan and as well as detox (if they need it). While the specifics may vary, each plan includes both individual and group therapy rooted in evidence-based practices including CBT and DBT. Clients are also strongly encouraged to participate in 12-step meetings in addition to therapy. Dual diagnosis support is available along with medication management services.
The staff at SORCC consists of MDs, RNs, psychologists, LCSWs, LPCs and additional Master’s and PhD-level therapists.
Extras
Additional holistic methods are integrated into treatment including mindfulness training and meditation. The organization also provides a range of affordable primary health care services in addition to mental health and addiction treatment options. Those who complete a primary care program can also continue on to stepped down outpatient therapy as a form of aftercare.
