Southeastern Pennsylvania Comprehensive Treatment Centers Review
Acadia’s Southeastern Pennsylvania Comprehensive Treatment Centers has a series of opioid addiction treatment facilities throughout the state. The program offers outpatient care for adults by providing Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT), along with group and individual counseling. Clients receive customized care within a supportive setting by professional medical and clinical staff members.
Treatment and Staff
Clients are accepted to the opioid program as long as at the time of admission they are in the process of withdrawal within 20 and 24 hours. There is a stack of paperwork that needs to be completed prior to the physical exam. This exam tests blood and urine samples, and provides clients information about what they can expect throughout the program.
There is also a psychological intake that considers each person’s history with addiction, their social and family history, and personal medical history.
The next step for admission entails incoming clients meeting with a member of the medical staff to go over their results and discuss what medications would be the most effective for their programming. This facility offers Methadone, Suboxone, Subutex, and Vivitrol. There are different methods of receiving medications, oral and injection. There are different dosing schedules that are presented to clients that depends on their needs. The facility is open early in the morning for clients to receive their medications, or undergo the intake.
Acadia requires that all of their clients participate in both individual and group therapy. These sessions address relapse prevention, traumas and other past experiences that are common amongst those who struggle with opioids. Clients are referred to 12-step support meetings throughout the community, and learn a series of life and coping skills.
This facilities staff consists of medical doctors, nurses and LCADCs.
