The Basics
Spread along the small towns of Robinson, Olney, Flora, Lawrenceville, Mount Carmel and Fairfield, Illinois, Southeastern Illinois Counseling Centers, Inc. (SEICC) offers a range of substance abuse, mental health and prevention services. Its substance abuse programs include early intervention, adolescent substance abuse education, outpatient counseling, Intensive Outpatient Programs (IOP) and case management. While the exact details of programming differ by location, the Crawford Family Counseling Center is a good example of how most of the SEICC facilities operate.
Treatment and Staff
Treatment works within the structure of individual and group therapy based on the Matrix Model. Methods also include something called “peace management,” which is a form of conflict resolution. Length and frequency of treatment varies depending on counselor assessments but in general, clients attend group and individual sessions at least once a week. Its early intervention group is 12 hours of treatment while the abuse group is 20 hours and the dependency group is 75.
The Crawford Family Counseling Center is not 12-step oriented and does not offer detox but it can facilitate limited dual diagnosis support. However, men, women or adolescents deemed to be struggling with more severe co-occurring disorders might need supplemental help.
While there isn’t a doctor on staff full-time, Crawford does have consulting physicians who work within the SEICC network, with numbers and credentials varying depending on location.
Extras
SEICC also offers DUI, prevention and early childhood mental health services., as well as Screening Assessment Support Services (SASS) and Alzheimer’s support groups.
