The Basics
South Central Behavioral Services (SCBS) is a dual diagnosis treatment program for adults with locations in Hastings and Kearney, Nebraska. It offers Partial Hospitalization (PHP) and Intensive Outpatient Programs (IOP) that utilize evidence-based treatment, as well as psychoeducation and trauma-informed care.
Treatment and Staff
Incoming clients go through an intensive intake and are assigned a primary therapist who serves as their go-to source throughout treatment. The PHP, also referred to as the day program, is five days a week for five hours a day. The IOP, which can be a step-down, is three times a week for three hours a day. In addition to a structured schedule of group and individual therapy, educational sessions and skills training, the PHP provides a mid-day meal and some exercise worked into treatment. The IOP is mainly comprised of group therapy with one individual session weekly.
Both the treatment tracks offer gender-specific groups, relapse prevention and aftercare planning. There is also a dual diagnosis group that focuses mainly on coping skills and medication management. Therapeutic approaches include DBT, Stages of Change, CBT and EMDR. Some groups are facilitated and led by former or current IOP clients who share their experiences and offer advice. Attendance at local 12-step meetings is highly encouraged and some AA/NA meetings are conducted on-site as well.
The staff of SCBS is a multidisciplinary team of addiction specialists who are LPCs, LCSWs, psychiatrists, substance abuse counselors, RNs and peer counselors.
Extras
This facility is able to offer a residential program known as ABLE House if the outpatient tracks alone aren’t suitable to the clients needs. There are also family groups available and couples counseling.
