Sobriety Living Sober Living Review
Scottsdale, Arizona’s Sobriety Living LLC is a sober living community for men and women who are just beginning their recovery journeys. Sobriety Living offers separate housing options for men and women, and AA meetings on site. Its services are open to those who struggle with addiction as well as clients with a dual diagnosis. Sobriety Living ensures all clients that it is not a halfway house, but rather a community that offers support for those new in their sobriety.
Accommodations and Amenities
There are three homes Sobriety Living provides in Scottsdale. They are all single family homes that are close to public transportation and provide access to grocery shopping and other essentials. The facilities have between three and four bedrooms in each, and are double occupancy.
Each of the houses have living rooms with a TV, digital cable and internet, which includes HBO. The kitchens are modern and have nice appliances. There are also gas grills on the patios that clients can use, and comfortable outside furniture.
Clients do provide their own meals and are free to eat when they want. However they do have to keep the common areas very clean, and are not permitted to eat in the bedrooms.
Two of the three homes have a swimming pool.
Rules and Regulations
Robert Parness, who is the director and owner of Sobriety Living, has a long list of rules for residents once they move in. These rules include attending 12-step meetings, of which there are three held on site—two AA meetings on Tuesday evenings and Wednesday mornings, and a cocaine anonymous (CA) meeting held on Wednesday nights.
Clients either need to be working or be seeking out job opportunities a few weeks after moving into the residence. Going to school full time is also an option.
Sobriety Living LLC is not as strict as some other facilities in terms of needing to be in the house a certain amount of hours every day. Clients are mainly able to work longer hours if needed, but do have to attend the house meeting once a week. Job placement assistance is provided.
Clients who take any sort of medication need to tell the house manager about them right away. Medications are monitored, and random drug screens are taken weekly.

Sobriety Living LLC is a place for those who are new to sobriety to get back on their feet. Clients have responsibilities and expectations placed on them, but learn how to have freedom without needing to get high or drunk.
