sober living waukesha wiconsinThe Basics

WisHope provides structured and transitional sober living / Recovery Housing for men and women in early recovery from chemical dependency. WisHope tailors treatment plans and expectations to fit every client’s individual needs. Above all, it expects residents to work on a program of recovery and maintain abstinence from alcohol and/or drugs.

Accommodations and Amenities

WisHope operates in the heart of downtown Waukesha, with locations spread throughout the city. Each gender-specific house accommodates between eight and 72 clients. Clients share double or triple-occupancy furnished bedrooms, which include twin beds, dressers, nightstands and lamps.

Amenities include Wifi, utilities, off-street or garage parking and laundry rooms. Recovery Coaches live on the premises at all locations.

Rules and Regulations

Prior to admittance, residents must submit an application on the WisHope website. After reviewing the application,  staff will reach out to residents to see how they can best help them. WisHope refers to their house rules as “expectations” with the belief that residents will uphold the expectations and hold their peers to the same standards. The weekly expectations include attending regular 12-step meetings, working the steps with a sponsor, attending the house meetings and/or attending their outpatient program.

Residents must fulfill their housing obligations and fill their free time with productive activities. As a result, they are often at work, school, or volunteering.

WisHope conducts random drug and alcohol screenings. There is a zero tolerance policy regarding relapse. Consequently, when a relapse occurs the staff evaluates the situation and takes the appropriate actions.

They refer relapsed clients who require immediate medical assistance to a local hospital or detox facility.

Extras

Beyond a safe and sober living environment, WisHope provides sober coaches, interventions for distressed families of alcoholics and/or addicts and sober chaperone services.

Recovery coaching provides clients with hands-on support towards getting their lives back together. This support might include job coaching, school enrollment assistance, transportation, 12-step meeting referrals, goal setting and creating a day-to-day schedule helping clients stay active and focused on building a solid foundation for sober lives. These services are provided at an additional cost, and are also open to the community.

In Summary

WisHope is a supportive and structured environment for men and women who have a little sober time under their belt. The homes are comfortable, quiet and clean and residents are allowed autonomy as long as they remain clean and sober. Clients are given the opportunity to assimilate into the real world with a supportive and sober network while they rebuild sober and independent lives.
