The Basics
Seventh Direction Inc. is a substance abuse treatment facility with locations in Wichita and El Dorado, Kansas. Clients have the option to choose the location and program that best suits their needs and treatment specifications. Seventh Direction offers a regular outpatient program, an Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP), treatment for co-occurring disorders and intervention services.
Treatment and Staff
Seventh Direction’s outpatient tracks have the same treatment components, but the regular outpatient program is less than 10 hours per week, while the IOP is a minimum of 10 hours per week. Before entering either program, clients are first evaluated and assessed to determine which program would be most beneficial and to develop an individualized treatment plan. The length of the regular outpatient program varies according to the needs of each client, while the IOP typically lasts three months. Clients who successfully complete the IOP are encouraged to continue with treatment in the regular outpatient program. The tailored plan determines the types of treatment, the frequency of treatment and is subject to change as the client progresses through the program.
Programming includes addiction education, a co-occurring disorders group, gender-specific group therapy, age-specific group therapy, individual therapy, peer support groups and family therapy. The groups are held at various times throughout the week, while individual therapy and family therapy are scheduled separately. Seventh Direction also offers transportation services to and from treatment, for those who need it. The 12 steps are integrated into the program and clients from both tracks are expected to attend meetings at least three times a week.
The staff at Seventh Direction consists of LCSWs, clinical psychologists, LPCs, LCDCs and MFTs.
Extras
Seventh Direction also offers intervention services for those who need extra help reaching out to a loved one. The organization also runs a community recovery coffee shop that holds regular 12-step meetings in both English and Spanish. Additionally, there is an 8-hour DUI course for those convicted of a DUI or DWI.

Through evidence-based practices, aftercare, and various skills building, clients are able to leave the program with a stable grasp on recovery and sobriety.
