The Basics
Based out of Memphis, Tennessee, Serenity Recovery Centers is a multi-faceted organization founded in 1971 that provides a full continuum of care to men and women suffering from addiction and co-occurring disorders. Treatment and Staff
Clients undergo an initial assessment to help staff develop an individualized treatment plan. Those in need of detox can do so on site before continuing on to treatment. While each of the facility’s outpatient tracks use the same treatment methods, each is slightly different in intensity. The PHP includes four to six hours of therapy four times a week; IOP is three hours a day four times a week and standard outpatient varies depending on each client’s needs.
All programs consist of a combination of individual and group therapy rooted in evidence-based practices, such as CBT, DBT and Motivational Interviewing (MI). Clients also learn about 12-step recovery and attend off-site AA/NA meetings. Groups cover a range of topics including relapse prevention, anger management, life skills, HIV/AIDS education, trauma-informed care and Recovery Dynamics. Dual diagnosis support is also available.
The staff at Serenity Recovery Centers consists of Master’s-level LADCs.
Extras
In addition to the above, the facility offers standalone psychosocial tests, psychological evaluations and Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) for those in the detox phase of opiate addiction. Clients who have completed a primary care program can attend step-down outpatient treatment as a form of aftercare.
